These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Carbon Snapshot and Carbon Reporting Platform ("Service") provided by Beljay Labs ("we", "us", "our").
1. service description
Our Service provides carbon footprint estimation and reporting tools for businesses. We integrate with Xero accounting software to analyze your financial data and estimate associated carbon emissions.
2. xero integration
To use our Service, you must authorize us to access your Xero account. By connecting your Xero account, you grant us permission to:
- Read your chart of accounts and ledger information
- Access transaction and expense data
- Retrieve supplier and customer contact information
- Download invoice attachments for detailed analysis
We request read-only access. We will never create, modify, or delete any data in your Xero account.
3. data processing
We process your data solely for the purpose of providing carbon footprint estimates and reports. Our processing includes:
- Classifying transactions into emission categories
- Applying emission factors to calculate carbon estimates
- Generating reports and visualizations
- Improving our classification accuracy through machine learning
4. accuracy disclaimer
Carbon estimates provided by our Service are approximations based on financial data and industry-average emission factors. These estimates:
- Should not be used for regulatory compliance without verification
- May differ from actual emissions measured directly
- Are provided for informational and planning purposes
5. user responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes
- Provide accurate information when required
- Not attempt to reverse engineer or misuse the Service
- Maintain the confidentiality of your account
6. intellectual property
Our Service, including its classification algorithms, emission factor database, and user interface, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or reverse engineer any part of the Service.
7. limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to decisions made based on carbon estimates provided.
8. termination
You may disconnect our Service from your Xero account at any time through Xero's connected apps settings. Upon disconnection, we will cease accessing your Xero data. See our Privacy Policy for information about data retention after disconnection.
9. changes to terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
